The Butterfly Effect: A star-studded fashion event to benefit The Jenna Druck Foundation, Young Women’s Leadership Program

A spectacular fashion event - "THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT" will be held on the 19th of May, 2010 at the Museum of Photographic Arts at Balboa Park, San Diego. Actor/singer/Television star Jai Rodriguez will be the Master of Ceremonies and auctioneer for the event. The evening begins with a show presenting “Project Runway Season 6” designer Christopher Straub’s entire 2010 fall ensemble. San Diego designers Jose Maria and Jeffrey Parish will feature their latest collection. Miriam Jewels, unique handmade jewelry will launch the Papillion Collection, 20% of sales of which benefit the foundation.

Proceeds of the event will benefit the Young Women's Leadership program of the Jenna Druck Foundation. Guests will enjoy an evening of live music by Australian musician Lee Coulter; and view the ongoing exhibit 'State of Mind' at MoPA along with the fashion show. The Jenna Druck Foundation was founded by Dr. Ken Druck, in honor of his daughter, Jenna, who tragically passed away when she was just 21. In celebration of Jenna's commitment to leadership and positive change, the Young Women’s Leadership program was established, offering girls year-round opportunities to learn and practice honoring themselves and each other. The Spirit of Leadership Conference is one of the program highlights, and just one of many ways the foundation gives back to girls in our community.

For over thirteen years the Young Women's Leadership program has celebrated emerging leaders in San Diego County. The program encourages these young women, offering guidance and training for enhancing the leadership qualities that lie within them. The curriculum provides an environment that encourages self-discovery, collaboration and growth, and centers on the annual Spirit of Leadership Conference.

Master of Ceremonies and Auctioneer Jai Rodriguez is an actor and musician best known as the culture guide on the Bravo network's reality television program Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Rodriguez is also a stage actor and singer best known for his role in the Broadway musical Rent as Angel.

Fashion designer, Christopher Straub gained worldwide fame as a finalist on Lifetime Television's reality show Project Runway, Season 6. He also appeared on season 1 of the competitive reality show Models of the Runway. Christopher Straub has designed arrays of fine apparels, handbags, jewelry and accessories.
