Dr. Ken Druck

Ken Druck

Dr. Ken Druck is the Founder of the Jenna Druck Center, which he established in 1996 following the tragic death of his oldest daughter. Dr. Druck is often called upon to help families, schools and communities in critical incident situations, such as Columbine and Santana high schools after the shootings in those communities. Since September 11, 2001, he has worked with the New York Fire Department and the U.S. Justice Department assisting families around the nation. He was also recognized by President Bush and NYC Mayors Giuliani and Bloomberg at the one-year anniversary of 9-11 held at Ground Zero.   At the beginning of 2004, Dr. Druck assisted Senator John Vasconcellos in the rollout of California's historic violence prevention legislation.

Dr. Druck received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the Fielding Institute. After 20 years in clinical practice with leaders in business and government, Dr. Druck formed Druck Enterprises Inc., an executive coaching, organizational consulting and team-building firm based in San Diego, Calif. His broad base of clients has included Microsoft, Pfizer, Pharmacia, Sempra, IBM, Jewel and the San Diego Unified School District.

Ken Druck’s innovative work has been featured on Oprah, CNN, ABC, HBO, and PBS specials, as well as in major newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, L.A. Times, Chicago Tribune, USA Today, Nation’s Business, Parade, and U.S. News and World Report. Ken Druck appeared on CBS Evening News with Dan Rather and Larry King Live in 2003.  He also writes regularly for Family Circle magazine and is the bestselling author of The Secrets Men Keep. Dr. Druck’s spoken word CD, Healing Your Life After the Loss of a Loved One, is currently being distributed to all 9-11 victim families. Dr. Druck was recently awarded the prestigious American Psychiatric Society "Family Advocate Award” and San Diego’s “Quality of Life Visionary Award.” 

 

Dr. Rochelle Perper

Rochelle Perper, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical Psychologist in private practice offering professional therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults throughout San Diego County (www.therapychanges.com). She possesses compassion and skill in helping families manage the effects of grief and transition as well as issues related to trauma, depression, and anxiety. Experienced in working with many different types of losses, Dr. Perper approaches each unique situation with care and respect. Through her work she has helped many families begin to rebuild their lives by gaining valuable insight and developing tools to face life’s challenges.

Dr. Perper serves as Adjunct Professor at Alliant International University and teaches courses for the Certificate in Bereavement Studies at National University. She has presented and given trainings for numerous organizations including San Diego Hospice and the American Cancer Society. She has earned respect and recognition in the community through volunteer commitments to the Jenna Druck Center, Survivors of Suicide Loss, Parents of Murdered Children, and Hospice of the North Coast. Dr. Perper actively serves with the Continuing Education Committee for the San Diego Psychological Association, the San Diego Bereavement Consortium, and the Victim's Assistance Coordinating Council.

 

Dr. Lori Rappaport

Child/Adolescent Bereavement Specialist/Community Education

Dr. Rappaport is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Co-Director of the ADHD Center for Success.  She received her Masters and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California. She was a Child and Pediatric Fellow at Harvard Medical School, where she developed the Growing Up Great! Parenting Program.

Dr. Rappaport specializes in working with children, adolescents and families.  She has worked in behavioral medicine and Oncology for over 25 years.  She maintains a private practice in Carmel Valley/Del Mar (www.growingupgreat.com), and is a regular guest speaker for Scripps Hospital Parent Connection and Mother of Multiples Club, as well as various other community organizations around San Diego County.

Dr. Rappaport is a Child Bereavement Specialist and has volunteered with the Jenna Druck Center since 1999, and is a member of their Board of Directors.  Dr. Rappaport provides support to grieving families, and is particularly focused on issues related to surviving siblings.  She provides grief education in the schools as well as other agencies, following the death of a child, parent, teacher or other significant person.  Dr. Rappaport serves on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts, San Diego-Imperial Council, and is a leader for two high school age troops.
